COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus — Chamber Update

March 17, 2020 – These are challenging times for residents of our community, Canadians and the world.  The Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments have taken and will continue to take sweeping and unprecedented measures to protect Canadians from the COVID – 19 virus.

The St. Paul & District Chamber of Commerce will take steps to assist and support our business community.  This includes providing updates shared by the Alberta Chamber of Commerce and Canadian Chamber of Commerce as single reliable sources of information and as our advocates at the provincial and federal levels.  As we move forward, we anticipate sharing additional news and information on support to business and economy.

In addition, we will be gathering impact information to be forwarded with the Alberta Chamber of Commerce that will allow them to compile and share that information with our provincial government.

We continue to encourage local shopping and support by community within the AHS guidelines to limit contact, activities and keeping social distancing in mind.  We also encourage businesses to review their insurance policies, including business continuity, with their providers.  If your business is part of the Chamber Plan Group Insurance we encourage you to access resources through the Chamber Plan and/or Teledoc services.

We at the Chamber understand how devastating this pandemic is on your business and as a Board agree that it is our role to provide support, resources and reassurance in attempts to mitigate the impact on business owners and community.

Thank you,

Brent Sandmeyer

President
